previous

per my previous post, here are some facts to back it up(im not making this all up..;-))

US Inmate Population Surpasses 2.1 Million Washington, DC: There are now more than 2.1 million Americans incarcerated in state and federal prisons and local jails, according to a report released this week by the US Department of Justice. The figure is the highest ever recorded in the history of the United States, and represents a one-quarter increase in the US inmate population since 1995. Prisoners in the custody of the 50 states and the federal system accounted for two-thirds of the incarcerated population (1.4 million inmates), while the other third were held in local jails (714,000 inmates). Among black males age 25 to 29, approximately 13 percent were in prison or in jail, compared to less than 2 percent of white males in their late twenties. Overall, one in every 138 US residents is in prison or jail, the report concluded. Authors of the report cited mandatory drug sentences as one of the primary reasons for the sharp increase in the US inmate population overthe past decade.

lunch

went for lunch with my grandfather today. probably the first time hes told me some personal stories from ww2. mostly about the buzz bomb and v2 missile attackes in london. horrific shit. made me feel very insignificant.
i watched saw for the 2nd time. man thats a good movie. who wouldve seen that ending coming? i was freaking myself out in the dark parkade afterwards..heh :)
i heard the US rewrote their bankruptcy law to make it more difficult to erase obligations. another tool in the war against the poor/african american population. people who dont contribute to weath production/protection. with exploding prison populations and private power reaping huge profits from the new prisons, is it any surprise? no different than the drug war. a war against people of color and the poor. to quote jello, ethnic cleansing - american style.

what

what is up with the bravery? why are they in a major label bidding war? why are they popular?
the lead man admitted he couldn't sing before the band(i can tell..), and then he give conflicting stories about singing lessons over the phone. im watching you singer dude!
and what's with the shitty pseudo glenn danzig devil locks? gimmy a break. just because you can name drop fugazi and live near dc doesn't mean you are a good band. if that were the case..meh whatever...
and im up to here being force fed all the pope news. im not religious and don't believe in god or jesus..so stop ramming it down my throat. ive updated my desktop in his honor. .

four

things ive seen while sick;

1- sideways - funny, and it has the dude from wings. and wings was horrible.
2- sin city - so gory, some people walked out. and some guy got his junk torn off. thumbs up.
3- the end of suburbia - the best by far, good range of interviews, and well made. there's a reason oil is called a non-renewable resource...but everyone is much to lazy and selfish to care.
4- family guy dvd(season 2)- best parody-porn movie name ever.."you've got mail - genitalia".

flic

i finally went to see end of the century. it was really well done. a lot of really good live footage and interviews. many involving relationships, break-ups and other related things. go see it.
deedee was funny, he had a good sense of humor in his parts, even though the topics weren't that funny, prostitution, heroin, etc. and his brief rap career.
i cant count how many shitty rip-off mtv/much music bands would not exist today if not for this band. and now they are all getting rich and famous. lame.
